Pew also has a recent (2009) memo on Twitter use.
Per their findings, 11% of online adults tweet and the median age is 31 (higher than Facebook and Myspace, lower than LinkedIn -- not really a surprise there, I don't think).
Twitter users also are quite likely to be blog users. Again, not really a surprise.
If you've never checked out the Pew project, you should. They do a lot of useful survey research about Internet use.
