This article at mashable.com (which is definitely worth following, btw) discusses reasons why teenagers may be less represented on twitter, comparatively speaking as a percentage of user population, than other age groups.
Some theories are that it snowballed in the adult population, is more useful to those in a business/professional context, and teens don't have anything to say there because it's more a a self-promotional tool than a friend-connecting, social networking tool. (And I'm curious if you all agree or disagree on that last point, which seemed to be the major one. Are promotion and related activities the key purpose of twitter? Or do you view it as a social networking tool?)
But all of this leaves us with yet another question: If teens don't tweet, what about tweens? ;)
